Just thought I would say a quick hello and thanks for the invite. I met a few of you at the MR2 national day and have seen a few others around and about on different forums. I always have plenty going on so expect plenty of projects.

Hi Martin, new kid on the block hey? Have you got the right stuff? (is that an 80's or 90's part of forgettable history old people?)
Your projects you mentioned at the national day sound just like the sort of stuff that fit right into what BodgeWerks is all about, the dark arts of wire bending and electrickery, powder coating, car hoarding, reckon you do have the right stuff!
Admin man has sorted out picture hosting here now so I'd for one like to see some of the things you've done in your lab.

Nope most definitely don't have the "right stuff" and I believe it was the 90's, I had actually forgotten about it till you brought it up so thanks for that. Dark arts indeed especially when you fubar the wiring and the power goes out, although with the amount of times I have gotten a bit too intimate with 230v I probably glow in the dark by now. My main project at the moment as some of you know is my mk2 V6 Fitting this Into here My other time consumers are And my dad's Along with the usual trying to sort out a new workspace for more storage and concreting the yard bit by bit.

Welcome Martin, looks like you've got plenty of Bodgewerks type stuff going there.

Welcome Martin! Great to have you here! I just typed out a really long ramble then Tapatalk crashed. I might try again when I've scoffed my curry.

She is now running and sounds so so good. i think the exhaust is true bopdgewerks material as the only bits i had to buy was the flexi's. the rest was made from MR2 and range rover exhausts and a spare bit of pipe i had kicking about.

Would people like me to copy the full project thread onto here? Its all currently on the MR2OC and has been going for a couple of years now so plenty to read.
Yeah, me people would like to read it.

Yeah that would be cool if you have the time? Really appreciate the gesture. The vvti swap is still fairy new, donor cars being expensive, but I think this will become the default choice for swaps. Just waiting for a good excuse to kill my trusty steed.

Ok I will get round to copying it over at some point. I think one of the big limitations on the VVTi swaps is the unknowns especially with stuff like wiring. I reckon having done it that a rudimentary guide could be written up but it would not be a join this colour to this colour as there are too many variations.
It's such a nice engine though I think they will get alot more common.

I find the 1mz and the vvti way easier in some ways than the 3vz. Those common blocks make life very simple. Let's get a thread started for this, we can bounce a document around internally until it's useable. There are a couple of sources / guides I've drawn from, nothing is exact or simple, but there's probably enough to give folks a good leg up on the job. C.

I have a 1mz in a camry, but its a lowly single intake non vvti, oh the humanity of it all.
