Just a quick thanks to Chris for the invite. Now a brief teaser of my current build whilst I have 5 mins as the lil man is asleep.
I built a 3VZ-FE MR2 18 months ago( the thread is on twobrutal ) with the intention of turbocharging it, but as usual things happen etc etc.. So after enjoying the drive for 12 months I pulled it all apart from this
Now it is looking like this its almost complete just around 30 hours to go plus a few more for tiding up and maybe redoing a couple of ugly welds. I take pride in fabricating everything myself and my tig welding has come on loads this time round. I even turned my own take off barbs for the IACV and that awesome 90's dump valve I'll post a thread from start to finish if people like or I can just do the turbo conversion. Which is a very tight squeeze to keep it all in the engine bay. Well I have relocated the fuse box in the boot but that doesn't really count. Its a massive spec car although it looks tired from the outside its heart is still young and fast. Like me haha. Hope people find it interesting enough to read and comment. If anyone wants to know anything about what I have done give me a shout but I will try and do a thread tonight so you can all have a good read.
Hey byrney1985, Your build looks like a fun car to drive! Nice low-to-midrange power from the v6 and some boost to keep things singing at mid to high end. Powaa.... powaah everywhere 😆
I might recognise your car possibly, I think I saw it at modified live @ snetterton about ten years ago in the car park, I’ve got a pic somewhere. I’ll see if I can dig it out next time I turn the laptop on.
Yeah it ahould make an intresting ride when finished. If I’m ever finished adding stuff lol.
It won’t be my car you’ve seen im affraid it was a total bog standard Rev 1 G limited (import) except the for the forged r32 wheels. Now its a former shell of its oem self hahaha. But thats how I like it. I’d rather build it than buy it. I’m funny like that or awkward lol.
