Looks like you managed to get it off without too much pain. Have to say that when I had to remove a gearbox it was not easy. I do maintain the believe that it would be a darn site easier if the mk2 had the same seperatable driveshafts that the MK1 has.

Yeah, it was on the deck in about 3hrs, we had some challenges with things like clutch slave bolts (we removed it from the box instead of disconnecting the line) and the early rev1 shafts which just don't want to let go. I have a gearbox ready to go in, just waiting on seals. Should be back on its feet next Saturday (or Sunday if I buy a keg)
